Empower 2014

One of the regular rhythms of our college ministry at Grace is a 4 day retreat for all students, usually held just before school kicks back in. I just got back from our 2014 ‘Empower Retreat’, and i’d have to say this was probably our best one so far. Not only was it our largest one yet (we completely sold out of camp spots), but I think we had the best program, and the most stress free execution of the whole event. One of the keys to it where the 14 College Interns (from Midtown, Snellville, Monroe & Athens) who basically ran the camp… they where the guys and girls wearing the neon vests the whole time and if anyone ever had questions or something needed to be set up, cleaned up or packed up… they where the crew for that, certainly made the job for us Pastors waaaay easier!

A couple of highlights of the camp where the Dance Party (Hybrid Holiday Rave to be exact), Empower Olympics (that GCSU took out this year) and the hours or worship throughout the camp (particularly the last night). It was such a great few days, I was completely exhausted coming out of it, but honestly my overwhelming feeling was one of gratitude, I get to Pastor and lead a group of hungry, passionate and growing College students… and i feel so blessed to do it.
